there aren't any spectators here yet, but if you check the larger version, you can see people removeing snow and preparing the field.
This old homestead is silently decaying alongside the highway, oblivious of the modern cars rushing by. Years ago, homesteaders had built such a nice chimney and lovingly painted this little house red. It is forgotten now, except the fruit trees keep on blossoming!
Rushing by along the highway through Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, on the road that winds through from inland to the Pacific, one can still catch a glimpse of it. Whoosh!
When this little house was built, the highway was a dirt mountain road winding along sheep country and apple orchards across the coastal hills. Before that, it was an old stagecoach road that connected San Francisco and the inland towns to the remote Mendocino Coast.

This was the first shot that made me fall in love with photography. The composition is all wrong, but somehow I still like it. I've posted this one before but this time I've properly processed the image with my newly learnt skills :) Damn I miss the summer too!
This is from my work's(Minjiang University) Campus. On the right you see the hot water room, where my student's get the hot water for their instant noodles(no joke).
I can't believe they created a room just for that!! Although if I had a house, I'd make a cheese, lasagna and chocolate room for sure, if I could.

On this day we celibrate with little children carnivals, parades and so on. Schools are closed and a day off at work, and people give their children summer-present.

just got the canon 10-22 a couple of days ago. it's been pouring so hard for 2 days, i finally got a chance to get outside this morning, so i ran down to the rr tracks near my house to try it out. this is pretty much straight out of the camera.
ya' know three years ago, people would ask me "do you want a boy or girl?". i would say " i don't care as long he or she is healthy." psssst, don't tell any one, but i'm kinda' glad we had a boy. he has the best toys ever;)- except when you step on a 1970 dodge charger hot-rod, in the middle of the night oooooouch!!!;)-

built in 1902 in the shadow of mount washington. a true grand hotel, huge and luxurious.
we were invited to a winter wedding in this hotel a few years ago. when we arrived, we were surprised to see workmen on the roof working in subzero temperatures. we soon found out that during the night, the wind had ripped a large section ot the metal roof right off the building.
